Prime Group has scaled heights under your able leadership. Kindly tell us about the journey, the experiences, the inspirations and your thoughts and views over the years...

Prime Group's story is all about grit, determination and accomplishments. It goes on to prove that focus and dedication pays rich dividends the journey to the present positions at the top has been a very challenging one and predictable we had to face several testing time. But, with God’s grace and with my firm belief in the committed employees, we have been able to make Prime Group a respected brand in India and even overseas.
All these yeas, my family has been my greatest inspiration. I’m a man who believes in strong family values and even at the work place we believe in the Parivaar (family) concept today, would be very happy man. I am satisfied with the present success of the
Group. However, I don’t believe in resting on one’s laurels. As we know very well that with this level of success, the responsibilities and customer expectations increases manifold. Hence, we will be working harder than before to meet customer expectations and to ensure their delight in future also.

Tell us a little about yourself, your background, achievements and your role as the chairman and managing director (CMD) of such a dynamic company?

I always had a desire to serve my motherland and being from a business family, I entered into such industries or business areas, which are of priority for the nation’s development and growth.
Our serviced to nation has been recognized well by the Government, industry and society. In our endless pursuit for quality, service and overall performance, the group and myself personally have earned several prestigious recognitions like distinguished Entrepreneurship Award (1998) of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Millennium Award 2000 of the All India Achiever’s Conference, Arch of Europe Gold Star, Priyadarshini Indira Gandhi Award, Udyog Ratan Award and Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award,

amongst others. My role as the CMD of the Group is that of giving strategic and leadership direction to the Group. For me, quality is the priority and constant innovation, a quest. Our customer, who are the backbone of our growth, certainly expect the best from us.

Tell us about your product basket, and how it meets the demands of the Indian market…

Technical products offered by PCI Ltd are designed to satisfy the needs and expectations of the customers and are developed by dedicated research efforts and tested with the end-users for their applicability before being formally launched into the marketplace.

What is your opinion about the packaging industry in India….and the growing need for your products by this sector?

The packaged products are gaining an increasing acceptability among the consumers very fast and this has given a big boost to the packaging industry. Today, almost every eatable or ready-to-consume food products, is available in the packaged form. Hence, packing is emerging at a very rapid pace.

The packaging machines require a clean and continuous power supply and hence, require to be runs on UPS systems. Our UPS systems prevents the loss of the raw material, wastage of resources and manpower and delays in packing commitment, all of which lead to loss of goodwill and even cancellation of the third party orders having major financial implications. Our UPS are a perfect companion and perfect power solutions for the packaging industry.

What percentage of your UPS business comes fro, the packaging sector?

At present, around 15 per cent of our UPS business is coming from the packaging sector, but as the packaging industry itself is seeing considerable growing trend, we expect this share to increase to 25 per cent within the coming two years.

What are the sectors that constitute the major chunk of your UPS business?

Although, we have presence in almost all the industry verticals but major portion of our UPS business is being contributed by packaging & design, plastics & polymers, healthcare, information technology (IT) and information technology enabled services (ITES), entertainment, retail and textile.
